MSME / Udyam Registration

MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise) registration, now called Udyam Registration, is a government recognition given to businesses engaged in manufacturing, trading, or services. Any proprietorship, partnership firm, LLP, private limited company, HUF, co-operative society, or other business entity can apply. Classification is based on investment in plant & machinery/equipment and annual turnover: Micro Enterprise – Investment up to 2.5 crore and turnover up to 10 crore; Small Enterprise – Investment up to 25 crore and turnover up to 100 crore; Medium Enterprise – Investment up to 125 crore and turnover up to 500 crore. If a business falls within these limits, it is eligible for Udyam Registration.

Udyam Registration helps businesses get easier access to bank loans, often with lower interest rates and collateral support under government schemes; protection against delayed payments from customers (with the right to claim interest on delayed dues); eligibility for government subsidies, incentives, and MSME support schemes; preference in government tenders and procurement opportunities; easier access to credit ratings, technology upgradation support, and various state and central government benefits.
